Our experienced and caring team of vets have your pets needs at the forefront of their minds and offer help and advice to keep your pet happy and healthy. We insist on regular continuing professional development, membership of multiple veterinary organizations and journals, and hold regular practice meetings to ensure we all keep up to date with the latest thinking.
We are keen to pass on our high standards to younger prospective members of the profession and so often have work experience or veterinary students seeing practice with us.
Please let us know if you would prefer not to have a student in your consultation.
Should your pet become ill our diagnostic tools include xrays, ultrasound and blood pressure monitoring. Our in house lab offers same day results on a wide range of blood tests as well as allowing us to carry out urine analysis and microscopy.
This means that , giving them the possible chance of a fast and full recovery. We have dedicated operating theatres for carrying out surgical procedures. Heat mats and soft bedding are used to keep animals warm during procedures, and appropriate levels of pain relief are administered where necessary.
We routinely offer pre-anaesthetic blood screens to check the health of the liver and kidneys in older patients requiring a general anaesthetic.
By doing so we can identify higher risk patients and put measures in place to make their anaesthetic as safe as possible.
Most areas of surgery are offered including soft tissue and dentistry.
Our team of veterinary nurses are also able to offer a wide range of services. Again we are a veterinary nurse training practice and so often have trainees or prospective students from the local area.
Nurse Clinics offered include:
- Nail clipping
- Worming and flea prevention
- Behavioural consultations
- Weight watchers
- Dietary advice
- Post op checks and suture removal
- Administration of medications and adolescent check ups.
As well constantly striving to expand and improve the services on offer we continue to invest in the facilities of the practice including:
- An excellent computer system for our clinical records
- A new state of the art x-ray machine coupled with an automatic developer to produce top quality diagnostic images
- Modern autoclaves to ensure surgical instrument sterility
- New anaesthetic machines incorporating the gold standard anaesthetics
- Microscopes and in-house blood sample analysing machines to allow us to get accurate and rapid results for urgent cases
- New kennels incorporating isolation facilities
- A new ultrasound scanning machine to allow us to diagnose certain illnesses without the need for invasive exploratory surgery
- Blood pressure monitoring equipment
- New telephone system to ensure that you can get hold of us promptly.
Phase 2 of the redevelopment at the back of the practice is due to start in early 2008 and the plans are well advanced to include new separate cat and dog ward areas with modern spacious kennels, including hospitalisation and isolation facilities.
We will also have refurbished and dedicated operating rooms, an imaging suite and a completely refurbished laboratory area.
Hospitalised patients will get peace and quiet in a warm comfortable environment speeding their rate of recovery and making their stay more relaxed. Infectious cases will also be able to be isolated from other animals helping to ensure that your pet does not pick up infection from other people’s animals during their stay with us.
We try our very best to offer a cosy comfortable environment for your pet during its recovery, giving you peace of mind in knowing that they are in caring hands. |
