Nick & Karen qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in ’96 & ’97 respectively. Nick worked in mixed practice in Somerset for two years after qualifying before enjoying stints as a locum in various parts of the UK, interspersed with travelling to Australia.
There followed a short period in the pet food industry before joining the Oundle practice in 2001, prior to buying the business in 02. Karen worked in mixed practice in Market Harborough before joining Nick in Oundle in 02.
Since then the practice has become highly successful with a huge growth in the number of clients and patients especially on the companion animal side of things. As well as having a young family to keep us on our toes, we look forward to continuing to build the practice’s reputation and success.
Natalie first joined us as a new graduate from the Royal Veterinary College,
London in August 2004. Following a fantastic working trip to help with an
orang-utan conservation programme in Borneo during 2007, we are delighted
that Natalie has rejoined in early 2008. Nat has a special interest in small
animal surgery and we are looking forward to supporting her in studying for
further qualifications in this area.
Liz qualified from Bristol University in 1999 and has worked in various mixed practices in the UK as well as enjoying a year of working and travelling in New Zealand before joining us in 2005.
Having returned from maternity leave in August 2007 after the birth of her son Liz has enjoyed working part time for the past few months. The imminent arrival of her second child in 2008 will no doubt keep her busy!
Riette joined us in 2007 having qualified from Pretoria University in South Africa in 2001 and has a special interest in small animal medicine. She is also very keen and skilled in the field of diagnostic imaging. Riette is rarely seen without a smile on her face and her faithful dog Jack by his side. Interestingly he seems to have selective hearing if spoken to in any other language than Afrikaans necessitating all of the nurses learning how to say NO! in his own tongue!
Headed up by Sarah Shepherd (pictured above with, from left to right, Anne Swarbrick, Harriet Connerty, Sarah and Vicky Gow) the nursing team comprises four qualified veterinary nurses and two trainees. Our nurses are able to answer many day to day questions regarding routine health care, and run highly popular clinics, classes and consultations to help ensure your pet gets the very best advice and care at all stages during their lives.

Headed up by Bobbie Turton (pictured above in the centre with Carol Cortese
on her left and Sheila Brighton) reception is run by a team of four staff members. As a first point of contact they are able to offer advice on when an appointment with a vet is needed, as well as being able to answer many day to day questions regarding routine healthcare.
