Veterinary Care Assistants

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for two Veterinary Care Assistants to join our nursing team at Oundle Veterinary Surgery.

This is a new role within the practice and our VCAs will be expected to have a pivotal role supporting the nursing and reception teams with their duties to ensure the smooth running of the day. Ideally the working week will be on a full-time basis, working 40hours per week, rotating one week of earlies and one week of lates, but flexible working days/hours may be considered.

Oundle Veterinary Surgery is a beautiful rural town in Northamptonshire with excellent transport links within the neighbouring city of Peterborough. Whilst so close to the convenience of a city, Oundle promotes the idyllic country lifestyle with its quaint boutiques and coffee shops. With Stamford, the home of Burghley Horse Trails, less than half an hour away there is the perfect balance of necessity and luxury.

About the Team and Culture

Oundle Vets is a progressive SA first opinion practice with up-to-date technology. It is part of a 5-site group called Sampson Park Group so there's a brilliant opportunity for learning and delivers an excellent support network for growth and development. Our team is currently made up of 4/5 vets, 5 nurses and full reception cover. Referral site within the group (Byre Vets) where we regularly see orthopaedic/dental/ophthalmology/physio referrals. We pride ourselves on our wellbeing initiatives and team engagement.

Applicant Requirements 

The successful candidate would ideally possess some previous veterinary experience, or animal care qualifications, but we welcome applications from individuals who are wanting to progress into a veterinary type role with limited experience; enthusiasm and dedication are key to this role as full training will be provided
